If you ever find yourself in Munich from late September to early October, you may get to enjoy the wonders of Oktoberfest! This is a sixteen to eighteen day folk festival, where attendees can enjoy music, food and of course, beer! It is one of Germany’s most well known festivals. However, if you find yourself unable to go, do not worry. Amaya’s slot allows you to get a preview of what it is like! Along the way, you will come across the Wild and the barrel round special features.
The online slot looks cool, if somewhat outdated. Still, it has elements we really like. For example, the user interface used to control the title is designed to look like bottles and mugs of beer, which we really like. Above the reels, we can see a man, a woman and a horse all enjoying their favourite ale! The whole thing is very stereotypically German, which is something you either love or loathe. Now let’s delve deeper into this new Labslots review.

How it Works
You play this release on a five-reel board with nine paylines. You can choose how many paylines you have active by clicking on one of the bottles. Less paylines means a lower wager, but it also decreases your chances of winning. To form a win, you need at least three or more identical symbols that appear in adjacent positions.
All winning combinations must start with the leftmost reel and has to follow one of the currently active paylines. Otherwise, no cash prize is awarded. The user interface fits the theme and is very easy to use. We can open the paytable, change the number of paylines, spin the reels, change our credit value and bet max. By changing the credit value and number of active paylines, punters can wager between £0.01 and £225.00 per spin.
Available icon designs are all related to Germany and the Oktoberfest festival in some way. On the reels, you will find accordions, smoking pipes, Bratwurst, Oktoberfest beer, a green hat and a male and female German. A drunk horse serves as a Wild, but has a limited use. The Wild makes up for it by being the most valuable symbol on the reels. Meanwhile, the beer bonus icon comes in three varieties, and can only trigger a special feature.
Oktoberfest Bonus Rounds
Unlike most titles, the Wild in this slot only works with the male and female German. It can be used to complete winning combinations that include these two symbols, but no others. This is a rather disappointing limitation, but we would rather have this than no Wild at all.
Land three or more matching bonus icons to activate the Barrel special feature. Three, four or five bonus symbols triggers the bonus with a 1x, 2x or 3x multiplier active. Players can then click and choose through different barrels. Each one you open displays a cash prize, displayed as a multiplier of your total bet. Keep clicking the barrels until you find the Collect barrel, which ends the bonus. Punters can draw 1x, 2x and 5x prizes from each barrel.
Only some players will enjoy this release. The visuals look a touch dated, and the gameplay is kept extremely simple. However, all of this is by design. The software provider aims to capture the nostalgic hearts of older gamblers who want something a bit old school. If you fall under that category, then we definitely recommend checking out Oktoberfest. If not, you might want to play something more modern!
