Intro: Game Theme
Few sounds are as iconic as a wolf howling at the moon. A primal sound that echoes in our heads, sending us back to a different era. Back when we huddled around a fire, fearing what animals and monsters lurked in the dark. Today, humans have become masters of that howl, as Gamomat so clearly demonstrate in Night Wolves. The slot offers a free spins mode with stacked Wilds. Howling Wolf icons also pay both ways instead of just left and right!
We like the background image for this game. At least, the parts of it we can see. Off by the sides, we can see snow-covered trees, which stretch out into the horizon. Above them, we see a purplish sky, with no clouds. The only thing hiding that magnificent moon are the reels. Even then, its glow dominates the background. Much like the wolves this release is based around, your attention is drawn to it automatically. Symbol designs are a mix of playing card suits and various plants and animals native to the forest. We quite like this approach to icons, and hope to see more of it!

How it Works
You play Night Wolves on a five-reel board with thirty paylines. You can choose to have ten, twenty or thirty paylines active, giving you a bit of flexibility. However, you cannot choose to have any other number of active paylines, nor can you go below ten paylines. Wins are granted by landing three or more identical symbols next to one another. All winning combinations must start with the leftmost reel, with the exception being the Wild. They also have to follow one of the active paylines in order to grant their cash prize. Gamomat does a great job of colour coding their user interface, making it easy to use. Spin and Auto Play buttons are green, and buttons that set the number of active paylines and your wager are orange. The blue button opens a paytable, while the purple Max Bet immediately sets the maximum wager. You can bet between £0.10 and £150 on each spin.
Icon designs are something we feel mixed on. We are not huge fans of hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs appearing on the playing field, as they have little to do with the theme. Still, they are not too distracting. Meanwhile, the mushroom, pinecone, deer and wolf symbols all look incredible. We especially like the Wild and Scatter icons! The Scatter shows a forested river valley with a giant moon overlooking everything. The Wild is a wolf’s paw print, while the Top symbol is a howling white wolf.
Keep an eye out for the Howling Wolf symbol. It appears stacked on all reels, and can form winning combinations both right to left and left to right. This makes it incredibly versatile, allowing us to create winning combinations much more easily.
Find at least three Scatters to win twelve free spins. Additional Scatters do not add to your number of free spins, but they do increase the initial Scatter win. Definitely worth hunting for extra Scatters, given that they offer the biggest win in the entire slot! During free spins, the Wild paw print is stacked, increasing your chances of creating winning combinations. Furthermore, extra Scatters can be used to win additional free spins and win extra prizes.
You also have two gambles. For the Card gamble, you need to guess the colour of the facedown card correctly. In the Ladder gamble, you need to time it just right so you keep climbing the ladder! In both cases, winning means doubling your wager, and losing means losing it all. In Card gamble, you are able to mitigate that slightly by halving your initial bet. There is no limit on how many times you can shrink it either, so you could play with as little as £0.01 per gamble!
It has been a while since we ran across a wolf-themed game we enjoyed a lot. This Gamomat release definitely has all the elements to be successful. Lovely graphics, thrilling special features and a shot at an impressive 3000x jackpot! That said, it is not without flaws. More animations would be lovely to see, as would be the customisation of playing card suits. Still, if what you have read sounds interesting, we definitely recommend checking it out. It is more than worth your time!
