When thinking about the slots that defined the ancient Egypt theme, Eye of Horus immediately comes to mind. Despite being an older game, it was a title that had a loyal set of players that enjoyed playing it to this day! That incredible potential combined with a cool theme led Blueprint Gaming to remake this title. Now, it comes powered by Big Time Gaming’s fantastic Megaways system! Available special features include expanding Wilds that can cover entire reels and a free spins round that enhances the Wild further!
If the graphics look familiar, it is because the developers chose not to make any visual changes. The background image still displays those impressive two pillars that are holding the whole room and the reels in place! This is not the ideal solution, but we think the software provider did the right thing here. This way, they simply offered a release so many players loved without changing its identity. It makes it much easier to swap between versions while preserving the feel of playing Eye of Horus. Now let’s delve deeper into this new Labslots review.

How it Works
You play Eye of Horus Megaways on a six-reel board with an ever-changing number of paylines. Every spin alters how many symbols appear in every row of the playing field, which also adjusts the number of ways to win. That means scoring a prize means finding at least three or more matching icons next to one another. The winning combination must start with the leftmost reel in order to grant a cash prize. The layout is designed to look good on both desktop and mobile devices. We can spin the reels, set up Auto Play, look at the paytable and change our bet. You can adjust your wager in two ways. Either by using the up and down arrows, or by clicking the bet circle and then choosing the stake that suits your budget. Players can bet between £0.10 and £10.00 on each spin.
Symbol designs are a mix of playing card royals and Egypt themed icons. The letters J, Q, K and A do not really mesh well with the rest, but it clearly sets them apart as lower value symbols. Other icons include ankhs, scarabs, eagles, jackals and the Eye of Horus. The deity Horus, portrayed as a man with a bird head, plays the part of a Wild. Meanwhile, a large and imposing building is the Scatter, and is used to activate a free spins round.
Eye of Horus Megaways Bonus Rounds
During normal gameplay, Wilds have a chance of expanding to cover the entire reel. Wilds can substitute for any symbol except for Scatters, which makes them great at assisting wins.
Land three or more Scatters to win twelve free spins and a cash prize. During free spins, the Wild is upgraded once more. This time, it can upgrade other icons and landing several at once grants additional free spins! When an upgrade occurs, a beam of light shoots from Horus, upgrading the applicable symbol. You can see the order at which the icons will be upgraded above the playing field.. Land one, two, three or four Wilds at once to win one, three, five or seven extra free spins!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with this slot. It keeps the simplicity of the original while successfully introducing the Megaways mechanic. If you have never played the original, there is no reason to go back to it. Blueprint Gaming’s title recreates it to the T, while providing even more chances of landing a win. Fun special features and a big reward worth 10,000x will be more than enough to earn Eye of Horus Megaways plenty of new fans. Check out our list of slot sites to see where you can try it out!
