Bonanza Megaways Slot & RTP
Bonanza is a slot powered by Big Time Gaming, launched in December 2016. Little did the developer know this particular product would become their most popular creation, especially since it features such an unusual premise and game structure. Bonanza is another word for “jackpot” – and we all like to hear that, don’t we? But what is it about? The Bonanza slot is about mining for precious jewels. The reels are set in a rocky mine pit, surrounded by green grass, some flowers, a miners hut and some sort of a waterwheel generator.
The graphics are easy on the eyes, very detailed. Not super realistic, but not cartoon-like either. The colours are alive and the entire interface looks animated. Bonanza has all that it takes to draw you in and it shows the bright side of mining, not the dull, dark one that typically comes to mind. Boanaza Megaways is one of the most popular online slot games currently in Canada and its reputation continues to grow. You can play Bonanza Megaways at almost all of our recommended online slot sites, right here at Labslots.

Bonanza Slot: How to Win
You may have missed this little piece of trivia, but Bonanza was the first BTG slot to feature the now iconic Megaways engine. The game has 6 reels with a number of rows that are not fixed (there can be two to seven symbols in each reel), and there is an additional row above the grid where extra symbols arrive in mining carts. This kind of setup allows the number of ways to win to reach 117,649, which is bonkers. Pays are formed left to right, beginning from the leftmost reel. The player needs at least three adjacent icons to receive a payout according to the pay-table, and since the symbols can appear bigger and occupy more positions, this shouldn’t be a problem.
The symbols include diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds as high-value icons, whereas the low-value symbols are A, K, Q, J, 9 and 10. Getting six diamonds in adjacent position on a single spin will earn you a top payout of 50x the stake. The Wild symbol is represented by a stack of dynamite about to explode, whereas the Scatter is divided across four individual symbols with the letters G, O, L and D. Before you start playing, make sure to use the arrows and set the stakes for each spin. They can go from £0.20 to £20 per spin
Bonanza Bonus Rounds
The only proper bonus round in Bonanza is Free Spins, but we can’t undermine the fact that the slot comes complete with collapsing reels (cascade wins, avalanche reels, reactions – whatever you want to call them) and the Unlimited Win Multiplier. Each time a win happens the matching blocks shatter and make way for new symbols to occupy their place. This changes the reel grid layout and allows for successive wins.
When four Scatter letters appear and spell GOLD, the Free Spins round gets triggered. The player is awarded 12 free plays, with each new Scatter adding 5 more spins. During freebies, every reaction that happens comes with a multiplier which starts at 1x and increases with each consecutive win/reaction. There are no limits to how high the multiplier can get and the reactions will continue until there are no more matching formations on the reels.
Bonanza Megaways: The Verdict
Bonanza is the type of medium variance slot that leaves no room for boredom. Whether it’s the dixie-town music that plays every time you hit the Play button or the thrill of observing the reactions unfold before your eyes, this BTG hit is one for the ages. We now have dozens of video slots exploiting the genius creation that is the Megaways system; Bonanza was first of its kind and for that alone it deserves its fandom. Megaways aside, it is still an impressive online slot machine, with great Wild action, free spins and multipliers.
With crisp graphics and an uplifting ambience, Bonanza is almost inspirational – it makes you feel like you can start digging and fill your pockets with precious stones in no time. The designers should have found some other solution for low-value symbols instead of simply slapping playing cards on stone blocks, but that is a small bone to pick with this giant success of a game.
