Top online gaming software developer Yggdrasil has introduced Splitz, a new, cutting-edge game mechanic designed to take the company’s slot games to the next level.
Yggdrasil is hoping the new feature will bring a new level of enjoyment to gameplay and increase player engagement.
Splitz – even more ways to win
The much-anticipated release, which Yggdrasil has been teasing players about on Twitter for the last few weeks, has finally arrived, but what exactly is Splitz?
Similar to Big Time Gaming’s Megaways engine, with Splitz players will find some of their favourite games offering even more winning potential. Starting with a set amount of ways to win, the Splitz mechanic then varies this with each consecutive spin, giving players the possibility of over 200,000 ways to win.
When triggered, mystery symbols will drop down onto the reels below, after which they will split into as many as three separate symbols. The Splitz symbols that land will always be identical, and with the possibility of up to 12 symbols per stack being revealed during the base game or special features, players have the chance to win even bigger payouts.
Product Owner Slots at Yggdrasil, Natalya Ovchinnikova, said: “We are delighted to launch Splitz, an electrifying new mechanic that gives our slot gameplay an exhilarating boost.
“The feature exemplifies our constant drive for innovation, and we look forward to introducing it to operator partners and players”, she continued.
Yggdrasil will be hoping the technology will prove to be just as popular as Big Time Gaming’s Megaways, and also open up opportunities to grant other game developers access to the mechanic for a price, just as Big Time Gaming has done.
The first slot release to include the Splitz technology will be the Aztec-themed Temple Stacks, which will hit online casinos in January 2020. Although, Splitz is expected to find its way into many more Yggdrasil slot titles in the coming months.
With more than 248,000 ways to win, the payout potential in Temple Stacks: Splitz will be up to 25,000x a player’s original stake.
