Safer Gambling Week UK is Underway

Online gambling providers across the United Kingdom and Ireland have been promoting Safer Gambling UK’s Safe Gambling Week.

The initiative began on November 19 and is set to run until 25 November. So far, a large selection of the most well-known gambling brands operating in the UK and Ireland have pledged their support to the campaign.

Large sections of the gambling industry, including amusement arcades, bingo clubs, bookmakers, casino sites and online slot sites – have come together to support Safer Gambling Week (SG Week).

The aim of Safer Gambling UK is to provide gambling operators with a range of different tools and options so that players can help mange their own play. Both online and land-based gambling venues are currently advertising SG Week. Online gambling websites are promoting the week with banner ads and pop-ups. Online sites will also be promoting the week through their social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

The leading charities promoting safe gambling, Gamcare and YGAM are currently running workshops to promote and support SG Week. Their focus is on young people; particularly on parents and those working with young people including teachers, social workers and health professionals.
